OMGoodness!

My apologies for being invisible in the world of educational blogging, but things in my classroom have been a bit hairy. I teach in what would be considered an inner city school. The students come from home situations that are less than desirable. This results in some pretty intense issues at school and in the classroom. The past two months have been me trying to keep my head above water while trying to initiate some services and assistance for some of these little nuggets. The result has been an inability to create wonderfully fun things for them to do in class and more time has been spent on researching new behaviour management techniques because what was working 2 months ago, isn't working now.

So with the help of my husband (a Special Education teacher with our board), I have devised some new systems that I am implementing this week that will hopefully help my students succeed over these last 2 months of the year.

In good news, I created a small booklet for my nuggets to colour and reference during our unit on fractions. This is going to be a fun unit with lots of hands on activities and I'm excited for it. I'm trying to finish off our units so that I can cycle back to addition and subtraction since I have a lot of work to do with my two grade 2 students who need to know some different things before heading to grade 3. Phew!

In honour of my return to the world of blogging, here's a FREEBIE of my fraction booklet I created. Hopefully you will find it useful for your students!
