Good news!

After 6 weeks of worrying, waiting, and fretting, I finally got a call today! As I said in my last post, there were interviews to be placed on "the list" to be eligible for permanent jobs and LTO's. After some investigating, our union learned that only 36 people made the list for 36 permanent jobs. Huh? Altogether, there were 100 jobs to fill. Only 194 people got interviewed. As things progressed, it became apparent that the school board was going to do whatever they wanted to get around the regulation and hire who they wished to hire, foregoing any "fair hiring practice".

Yesterday was staffing. I had my cell phone with me all the time waiting to see if I'd get a call. As the day progressed, I kept hearing from people who got LTO's. No call came for me. People with no LTO experience got LTO's. Not me. I didn't sleep last night because I was so upset. I went for a massage this morning and came out of it feeling a little bit better. I walk in the house and the phone rings. It's a principal from one of our rural schools offering me a .5 (half-time) grade 2/3 job {afternoons}! It's almost exactly what I was doing this past year, except grades 2/3 rather than 1/2. I am ECSTATIC!!!

What it means for {Apple Bottom Beans} is that I can have inspiration and motivation to keep blogging and creating wonderfully adorable things for my students (and for yours)!
